As a State Representative I have worked for the people in House District 45 during the past eight years. I am now running to fill the open Senate seat covering all of Waldo County (Senate District 23). I am willing to continue devoting my time and energy for the benefit of the county and the State if voters agree that I am the best person for the job.

If elected, I will work on the following issues:
• Providing Economic Help to Small Businesses and Farmers
• Preserving Rural Livelihoods and Way of Life
• Developing a Smarter and Fairer Tax System
• Encouraging the Development of Renewable Energy
• Maintaining a Clean Environment

“John Piotti is now running to represent all of Waldo County in the Maine Senate and I could not be more enthusiastic in supporting his effort. He is ethical, hard working, a true non-partisan, a problem solver and a genuine public servant in the best sense of the term. He has been a standout legislator and I hope with our confidence and support he will be Waldo County's next State of Maine Senator. Waldo County cannot do better. I will vote for John Piotti.”

“Many people have been surprised that I—a Republican—have supported John, a Democrat. But John has clearly shown the people of my area that he deserves wide support. John is principled, approachable, effective, and as non-partisan as anyone in Augusta.

“John Piotti has done exactly what we should expect from everyone we send to Augusta—he has committed himself to working his hardest to try to make a difference.

“You may hear that the many bills John has passed are unimportant, because ‘the last thing we need is more laws’; but if you review the critical changes to law that John has made (in support of dairy farming, animal welfare, transportation, etc.), you’ll see that he has saved jobs or saved money and made Maine better.”
